As illustrated in the revenue account format, shareholders’ profit is calculated as:

Apart from preparing projected revenue account (under budget exercise), we normally calculate PV of future net profits as at valuation date. Basically this PV is the value of in force policies (before capital), which is part of traditional embedded value calculations.
